For a long time considered as being an “area of turbulence“, the city of Goma in the North-Kivu (DR of Congo) has been welcoming since Friday and this until 13th July, the 9th edition of Salaam Kivu International Film Festival (SKIFF).
On the agenda of this big meeting, training workshops, debates, projections of movies and music concerts.
The cream of the Congolese artists is going to present during this festival. Among them, the Congolese reggae man, Mack El Sambo (picture) whose show was scheduled on Saturday 5th July at the stade de l’Unité of Goma.
The organizers also announced the presence of the Canadian director, Matthieu Roy and the Congolese film-maker, Balufu Kakupa-Kanyinda.
This edition of the SKIFF has for theme: “Tuta djenga ao” (are we Going to build? in Swahili).
The festival is an initiative of the Cultural Center Yole! Africa and Alkebu Productions.
