The American humanitarian organization, International Consulting Aid Network (ICAN) proceeded on 1st July to the launching of the 1st edition of the “International Prize of medias“.
According to organizers, the idea is to encourage the professionals of media to better popularize activities of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) working in the field of health. The initiative is supported by the Gabonese Union of the professionals of communication (UGPC).
Who can participate in this competition? Well, it is opened to the professional of print media and the audiovisual report however subject to the respect of a number of conditions established by the protocol of the prize of media.
According to the organizers, the prizes “print media” and “broadcasting” will consist each of a plate, a prize of one million FCFA, composed of computer hardware (laptop computer, printer, camera, fax, scanner, etc.)
Within the framework of the international Day of freedom of the press, the prize will be presented to the selected medias during an annual conference on 3rd May 2015 in Libreville by the steering committee.
“The selected candidates will submit to the steering committee broadcast productions whether on television or reports published in newspapers”, underlines the steering committee, that indicated that “application files can be in French or in English and accompanied by English subtitles and translation”,
The deadline is set on December 2014.
