Cotonou, the Beninese capital town will shelter from 20th to 27th September 2014, the very first edition of the Best Instrumentalists of Africa Festival (MIA). 25000 festival-goers are awaited in the cultural meeting that will reward the best instrumentalists of the continent.
The continental pride as Manu DIBANGO and Lionnel LOUEKE are the guests of honor for the first edition of the Best Instrumentalists of Africa Festival (MIA). According to its promoter, the initiative aims at the promotion and the celebration of the instrumentalists of the continent. A competition of live music show will be organized for that purpose in the Beninese capital town in the honor of bands from the Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS) space.
Candidates are invited to join the official web site of the competition before 20th August 2014. According to Edgard DJOSSOU, chairman of the Steering committee, the festival will also arrange place for the other professionals of the music sector (musical instruments manufacturers and sellers, professionals of special event management, audiovisual production agencies, managers and many more).
Before meeting the Beninese and the international press on 9th August, the steering committee proceeded to an interview with the conductors of Benin. The explanation of the outlines of the event was at the heart of discussions.
“The prize-winners of every category appointed by an international jury will be rewarded by the MIA Trophies and will be because of their distinction, the best band of the year that will benefit from a regional promotion tour“, explained Edgard DJOSSOU to the Chinese agency, Xinhua.
