Ghana is laying the foundation of a new national airline company. Since the discontinuance of business of Ghana Airways and Ghana International Airlines, the country has no more national airline company. In order to avoid the mistakes in the past and assure a long life to the future company, the Ghanaian State entrusted the preliminary documents of the project to PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, a British establishment of audit and advice.
Ghana is looking for private partner for the creation of his national airline company. The country however does not open its doors to the first to come. According to the Chinese agency, Xinhua, Ghana received proposals from 13 private airline companies. PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP will help Ghana to choose the reliable partner that will accompany the country on a long term.
“PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP is going to recommend us as regards to the creation of a new airline company and the choice of a partner of the private sector in this domain“, indicated Dzifa Attivor, the Ghanaian Minister of Transport during a conference of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) held in Johannesburg. The Minister wished the new company launches its activities before March 2015.
As a reminder, Ghana Airways, the first Airline Company of Ghana created after the independence of the country in 1957, got a real success before being confronted with severe problems of management that will precipitate its disappearance in 2004.
