A’salfo, the vocal leader of the famous Ivory Coast group Magic System, has extended his mandate of Unesco goodwill ambassador. Considering the commitments and actions by the artist during the first round, the Director General the UN institution decided to keep A’salfo for the next two years.
Mrs. Irina Bokova, the Unseco Chief Executive Officer, in a note sent to A’salfo, congratulated the latter for his actions undertaken in favor of education and invited him to a nice adventure during his second mandate. “It is a pleasure for me to announce you that I decided to renew your mandate of Goodwill ambassador for a duration of two years (…) I am delighted to be able to continue our collaboration that, I am firmly convinced, will be so fruitful as during both previous years“, wrote the director.
Author of the song “Savoir“, a plea in favor of the literacy, A’salfo also offered gracefully a nursery school to the municipality of Marcory (Abidjan) where he spent his childhood. The inauguration of the center was coupled with the celebration of the 7th edition of the Urban Music Festival of Anoumabo (Femua 7).
Asalfo and his group are riding high. The Nr1 of Magicians was decorated by the president of Republic of Ivory Coast and also took part this year in an official visit of the President of French Republic, François Hollande. “Africainement vôtre“, the last album of the group, allowed them to pick win their 16th gold disc.
