The river trade between Congo-Brazzaville and the Democratic Republic of Congo (RDC) can soon start again.
It is what emerged from a meeting on 19th September 2014 between both Heads of states, particularly Denis Sassou Nguesso and Joseph Kabila.
As reminder, this business was interrupted since last April further to expulsions of RDC citizens from Congo Brazzaville.
During the discussions, both leaders gave instructions to their experts to meet soon in order “to examine the practical modalities for the resumption of the cross-border business between both Congo“.
Within the framework of these expulsions, several allegations of human rights violations were evoked.
Reason why these experts were also appointed “to establish a mixed mission of investigation on the allegations of human rights violations occurred during the expulsion operations“.
