Africa Agri Forum, the regional event for agriculture in French-speaking Africa organized by I-Conférences, opened on Monday in Abidjan in the presence of various participants coming from several countries of the continent and from international institutions.
For two days (13th and 14th October) the works will concern the theme “Which green revolution for the African continent” tackling the key issues of farming sector in Africa and the role of African governments on its development and its promotion.
The opening of the works was marked by a Round Table on the theme “Green Revolution in Africa… the way to follow“. 4 speakers Among whom the representatives of Ivory Coast Prime Minister’s Office, ADB and FAO, defined challenges to face by actors by insisting on the modernization of agriculture on the continent.
Besides, the various ordinary sessions on the agenda will all deal with growth drivers of agriculture on the continent and the modernization best practices of the sector and valorization of agriculture and other sectors in Africa.
More than 230 institutional, public and private actors, representing 22 countries participate in this meeting.
All together, the ordinary sessions, keynotes and innovations sessions presented by famous experts representing FAO, World Bank, ADB, ANSUT, African and international companies, are opportunities for a real exchange of experiences and rich debates all around the agricultural potential of the continent and the mechanisms and pragmatic approaches to develop an including, successful and sustainable agriculture.
