In spite of foreign aids, African countries do not succeed in financing their development. In front of the emergence wind blowing on the continent, it is essential to look for new financing (especially in front of non-compliance with commitments from partners in development).

Marrakech (Morocco) has been hosting since Monday, 13th October 2014, the 9th Forum for the development of Africa. Placed under the theme, “Innovative financing modes for the transformation of Africa“, the biennial meeting will allow African decision-makers to think about the mobilization of national resources, illicit financial movements, private capitals, new forms of partnerships and financing questions related to climate.

Organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) in association with African Union Commission, African Development Bank and other partners, the forum aims at improving the capacity of Africa to explore mechanisms of innovative financing as real alternatives for financing development in Africa, indicated Carlos Lopes, executive secretary of ECA.

700 delegates among whom the presidents Ivory Coast and Senegalese (Alassane Ouattara and Macky Sall) take part in the works that will come to an end on 16th October.
