Ivory Coast: Onuci peacekeeping force decorated

The Togolese Armed forces (FAT) should feel proud. The UN peacekeeping force of the 20th Togolese contingent for the United Nations Operation in Ivory Coast (ONUCI) is honored by the special representative of the United Nations Secretary General and Leader of the ONUCI, Aïchatou Mindaoudou. The latter decorated at the end of the week, the Togolese contingent (TogoBatt) composed of 456 soldiers, among whom 18 women.

The UN organization representative appreciated the professionalism of the Togolese soldiers. “This contingent always effectively assured with professionalism and devotion, the missions assigned to it“, this is what can be read on the Republic of Togo site.

According to the same source, the mission of TogoBatt consists in assuring to the population, essential humanitarian security and assistance through day and night patrols by escorting humanitarian convoys, supporting embargo and Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) operations and by offering free medical consultations to the populations.
