The second edition of the Marathon of Gabon was the opportunity for President Ali Bongo to get closer to his people this weekend. In sports gear, the president attended the competition that got the coronation of Wosen Zekele, winner of 42 kilometers and 195 meters in 2h2min04s.
For President Ali Bongo, the brilliant success of the event is to put to the credit of the volunteers and thousands of spectators. “This Marathon would not be as successful without the exceptional participation of the public and the volunteers! You were present, on the runway or aside, and this changed a nice sports meeting into a wonderful unifying event“, specified the Head of State.
For her part still during this weekend, the first lady of Gabon organized a race against cancer mobilizing hundreds of women. “Acting against cancer, it is fighting against stigmatization, taboos and the unspoken.
Acting against cancer, it is bringing humanity to the sick, facilitating the access to equipment and treatments. Acting against cancer, it is acting for our families, our communities, our country.
Well done for this immense pink colored crowd. Well done for your courage, your determination and your solidarity.
Thanks to you all“, declared the Gabonese president.
