A few days after the holding of the 15th summit of the Francophony for which Senegal was host country, the Head of State, Macky Sall praised in Council of Ministers, the “full success” of the meeting.
The Senegalese president thanked the Heads of States and Governments of the member countries of the International Organization of the Francophony (OIF) for their “brilliant participation” in these conferences of the French-speaking community.
According to the Senegalese Nr 1, the Summit of Dakar is a decisive turning point in the life of the OIF, with regard to the important decisions adopted on the political and economic challenges, with a particular emphasis on peace, safety and human rights.
On this point, he insisted on the “strengthening of the economic dimension” of the Francophony.
“In my quality of chairman for the Conference of the OIF Heads of States and Governments, I shall grant an essential place to the young people and to the women, in the implementation of the strategic dispositions of intervention of the organization in order to better establish the sustainable development“, the Head of State moreover underlined.
In his speech, Mr Sall did not miss to pay “a deserved tribute” to the outgoing Secretary General, Abdou Diouf and he, at the same time, sent his congratulations to Mrs Michaelle Jean, the newly elected OIF Secretary General, while assuring her the availability of Senegal to support in her mission.
