Pregnancy is not a brake but the beginning of a new life. One can be pregnant and still be beautiful, desirable, sensual and glamorous.
It is in this logic that the organizers of “Maman Fashion“, the fashion show which models are exclusively pregnant women wearing clothes adapted to their state.
In fact, the second edition of this outstanding fashion event will take place from 25th to 26th June 2015. It is what announced last Saturday Mrs. Nicole Faitai, chairwoman of Africa Designer, initiator of the show.
The competition is thus opened to those from 25 to 30 years old, healthy and pregnant from 4 to 7 months.
Through this concept, Africa Designer intends to valorize the pregnant woman by giving her “her respectability and her place” in the society.
“We would like to show a new image of the pregnant woman“, explained Mrs. Faitai during the launching ceremony.
“It is necessary to remove inhibitions from the pregnant women by allowing them to highlight their womanly curves through beautiful clothes, to incite them to take care of them as well as their body“, added the latter.
The innovation brought to the organization of this edition is the institution of an awareness raising day towards the girls around the theme “the teenager facing sexuality” with the support of the Ivorian Family Well-being Association (AIBEF).
For Dr. Nathalie Yao-N’dry, Program manager at AIBEF, this awareness raising day complies with the objectives of her structure for “the promotion of the contraception and the family planning, the fight against the unwanted pregnancies, especially in schools“.
Dr. Yao also insisted on the dangers incurred by the teenagers who have “early sexual activities“, particularly sexually transmitted infections of which the HIV / AIDS.
