The album that pays tribute to the African woman won the Grammy for the “Best world music album“. This distinction is the second awarded to the Beninese artist by the American academy.
Angélique Kidjo was competing with Toumani Diabaté and his son, Sidiki, “Toumani and Sidiki” (World Circuit), Wu Man, Luis Conte and Daniel Ho “Our World In Song” (Daniel Ho Creations and Wind Music), Sérgio Mendes, Magic (OKeh) and Anoushka Shankar, “Tracks Of You” (Deutsche Grammophon).

The Year 2015 starts well for Angélique Kidjo. The Beninese star, crowned the African of the year by the Pan-African newspaper, Africa Top Success, is also list among the most 50 influential women of the African continent according to the Jeune Afrique magazine.
