Initiatives are multiplied on the continent in order to involve women and girls in the jobs of information and communication technologies (ICTS) and Web development applications.
Initiated by the United States Embassy in Togo, carried out in partnership with the American Corner Lomé and the E2C Togo association, the “FemaleTechCamp 2015” project is launched and will take place on 25th March of this year in Lomé.
It is intended to support the growing interest of the Togolese girls for ICTS.
Concretely, the project aims at improving their knowledge on ICTS, widening their horizon on the ICTS infinite opportunities and stimulating their self-confidence so that they become founders and leaders of technologies incubators in their institutions of origin.
During three days, this camp that will gather in Lomé, about fifty young high school girls and students of Togo on themes as the technological democracy, the mobile funding etc.
A similar event called “Women Techmakers” took place on 7th March of this year in Lomé within the framework of the International Women’s Day.
