The Internet users of Niger will have the broadband within a few months. The supplier of air optical fiber, Phase3 Telecom intends to rally Niger to Nigeria via Kano. Not less than 228 kilometers of optical fiber will be required for this new operation in Niger.
In the end, Niger will have to benefit from a stable connection and accelerate its development in the ICTS sector. Landlocked country, Niger does neither benefit from the connection with the submarine cables, nor the land connection.
Niger is a part of the latest countries in the ICTS sector in Africa. In 2012, the country registered only 230 084 users, that is 1.4 % of the population. This figure placed the country in the 205th position in the world ranking.
