Burkina Faso won the edition 2015 of the “Promotion of the French language (PROLAF 2015)” competition held in Cotonou, Benin and that gathered 56 candidates from four West African countries, according to the results proclaimed on Tuesday.
The competition organized within the framework of the celebration of the International Day of Francophony, had for theme “Young people: environment and climate“.
56 from high schools and middle schools of Burkina Faso, Togo, Niger and Benin were in confrontation around three tests: dictation with mistakes or incorrect text, “word Game” and an oral test of general knowledge.
According to the results of regional finale proclaimed by the Francophony permanent national commission, 21 prize-winners were rewarded. Ten came from Burkina Faso, six from Benin, three from Niger and two from Togo.
“The choice of this theme aims on one hand at making sensitive the young people on the environmental challenges, then on the other, at bringing the latter to appropriate their role and duty in the fight against the behaviors harmful to environment“, explained the Beninese Minister of Foreign Affairs and of African integration, Nassirou Arifari Bako.
