Three Algerian journalists were rewarded on Sunday for their investigation work during the first edition of Ali Boudoukh Prize. Meziane Abane was honored for an investigation realized on sand traffic, published in El Watan Week End newspaper. Mohamed Koursi, as for him worked on unemployment thorny problem in Algeria for El Moudjahid. Finally, Hacen Ouali realized a report in Malta, on the migrants whose boat sank last year.
The themes of the competition that promotes investigative journalism in Algeria concern corruption cases, political scenes, local authorities’ life, personalities’ detailed portraits, hidden scandals, attack on environment, social customs, financial transactions, football business, migratory flows, influences networks, social conflicts, labor-union and associative stakes, judicial inquiries or international war situations according to RFI.
Organized by the information site Emerging Maghreb in partnership with RFI, the prize was initiated in homage to Algerian journalist Ali Boudoukh (Ben Salem), former correspondent of RFI died of a disease.
