One of the difficulties with which companies based in Africa are confronted is the bad quality of Internet. In sub-Saharan Africa, the Internet connection speed is extremely lower. This situation affects the yield of several structures that especially work in the ICTS sector.

The mobile phone operator, Orange, in a communiqué published on Wednesday, announced the launching of its first Point of Presence IP (Pop IP). This long-range device can cover West Africa and considerably improve the quality of the Internet connection speed.

« This new department situated in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, is going to bring better internet connectivity in the sub-region by offering faster speeds of connection and an increased safety for the customers on the wholesale market « , specified the communiqué that Africa Top Success got a copy.

A Point of Presence IP is a technical infrastructure that hosts the necessary equipment to allow the local networks to reach internet via an interconnection point with the networks of the long-distance operators.

By launching this new hub, Orange wants to adapt itself to the evolution of the market and to become the leader of Internet in Africa.
