The 12th ordinary session of the heads of States summit of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) takes place from 5th to 6th May in the Gabonese capital, announced the CEMAC in a press release.

The meeting occurs after several postponements because of the busy agenda of the presidents of six member countries of the organization: Cameroon, Central Republic of Africa, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Chad.

For two days, the leaders of these countries will mainly discuss the crisis in the Central Republic of Africa, member country hosting the head office of the CEMAC.

During the forum of Bangui that ended yesterday, conferences allowed to look for ways and means to bring sustainable peace back to the Central Republic of Africa.

Questions related of the CEMAC functioning will also be examined during this 12th ordinary session.

Because of exactions by armed groups in the Central Republic of Africa, the CEMAC was forced to temporarily relocate its head office from Bangui to Libreville, the Gabonese capital.

The meeting was convened by the Gabonese Head of State, Ali Bongo Ondimba, serving chairman of the CEMAC.
