The Pan-African air transport company, ASKY announced the next increase of its capital moving from 20 billion FCA to 25 billion. According to the information relayed by the Jeune Afrique magazine site, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated and the ECOWAS Bank of investment and development (EBID) already gave their agreement to participate in the operation.

Contrary to rumors spread by the press these recent weeks, Ethiopian Airlines, holder of 40 % of the capital of the company, will not sell its part to its South African competitor South African Airways (SAA). This measure was going to cause the relocation of ASKY from Lomé (Togo) for Accra (Ghana) where SAA would envisage the creation of a hub.

ASKY is a Pan-African company created in 2008. It was declared winner of the best African company prize during the edition 2014 of the African business managers’ forum « AFRICA CEO forum« . After a difficult beginning of its activities in 2011 (the first flights of the company hardly counted 10 passengers) ASKY has successfully continued the conquest of the African sky (an 80 % occupancy rate).
