A new era for the Cameroonian culture with important reforms being operated by competent authorities.

The Cameroonian Minister of Arts and Culture (MINAC), Ama Tutu Muna (left of the picture), spoke about « recovery » with new « serious contacts » taken at the international level particularly with the USA and Nigeria.

Indeed, during the 105th convention of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Promotion (NAACP), Mrs Muna signed a partnership agreement between her country and the National Ballet through Harlem Dance Street, a training school based in New York, the US.

« henceforth, our dancers will go to teach their authentic art to Americans concerning Central Africa and at the same time, American choreographers will come to work in our country within the framework of artist-in-residence programs« , she underlined.

Besides, Cameroon is in connection with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. (MGM), one of the biggest production and distribution companies for cinema and television in the world, as well as with Coca-Cola Company managing staff.

It is also said that the Black American director, Lee Daniel, agreed for months ago to bring his expertise to Cameroon in a voluntary way.

The Minister of Culture asserted that « the United States are interested in the development of the national Museum« .

Still in the framework of culture promotion in the country of Paul Biya, the American producer, Quincy Jones, agreed to become an honorary member of a foundation for the promotion of music in Cameroon. Let us remind that DNA analyses demonstrated that he had Cameroonian ancestors.

With Nigeria, the country is currently developing a collaboration project within the framework of a film coproduction with the equipment of Nollywood.

« At home, we have a palace of culture creation in project that will welcome the National Theater, the National Library, the Village of artists as well as the National Archives, which financing negotiations are on good way with the government, and which will come to be linked to the national Institute of arts and culture currently being built in the suburb of Yaoundé, the capital town« , indicated the Minister.

We should note that Cameroon is confronted with problems of movie theaters. The minister, Ama Tutu Muna promised to find solutions for this with the cooperation of the private sector.
