Ebony Prize is at its 16th edition this year in Ivory Coast. Initiated by the Journalists National Union of Ivory Coast (UNJCI), the Prize encourages excellence and rewards the best journalists of the year. The dead line for the registrations of the competition initially set on 5th November, continues till Friday.

Will the Great Ebony Prize find winner this year? With regard to the relatively average level noticed last year, the standing committee of the Jury intends to keep the trend by allowing large number of professionals of Ivorian media to participate in the competition.

« It is necessary to participate in the Ebony Prize because it allows a journalist to improve (…) Every journalist has to aim at certain degree of respectability and the Ebony Prize allows it« , indicated Joseph Anoma, chairman of the standing committee of the jury to the colleagues of the linfodrome.com site.

The award evening will be held in January 2015 in Ivory Coast capital town. The Prize for the best journalist of on-line press that was integrated into the competition only one year ago, is also taken into account this year. As reminder, this prize was given to Théodore Kouadio from Fratmat.info last years.
