FESPAM: more than 6 billion FCFA to organize the 10th edition

Event with big stakes and big-budget. This is thus we can summarize the Pan-African Music Festival (FESPAM) which 10th edition planned in less than one year, meaning from 8th to 25th July 2015 in Brazzaville, CONGO.

Six (6) billion 528 million 500 FCFA is the budget adopted in the 15th ordinary session of the executive committee of the festival, held on 1st August in Brazzaville.

 

Among others, the meeting gathered the representatives of the African Union, the UNESCO, the International Music Council (IMC), the International Center of Bantu Civilizations (CICIBA), the School of African Heritage (EPA), the International Council of African Museums (AFRICOM), the Presidency of the Republic of Congo, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance.

In his speech, the Minister of Culture and Arts, chairman of the management committee, Jean Claude Gakosso, exhorted the FESPAM General Commissionership « to work hard in order to meet the expectations of the International Community, the international cultural community and the requirements of the African youth and the African public who is eagerly waiting for this festival« .

« With all these combined intelligences, we shall be capable of offering to our continent a beautiful brotherly celebration in the shared generosity« , Mr Gakosso suggested.

Theme chosen for this 10th edition: « the dynamics of the African music in the cultural expressions diversity« , a theme that takes into account the UNESCO convention of 2005 relative to the promotion and the protection of the cultural expression diversity and the African cultural revival charter.
