After Russia that hosted this year the 38th edition of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), a kind of world cup of the IT engineering (that gathered 2286 universities, among which 122, the most prestigious arrived in the final), it is now the turn of Morocco to welcome the next edition that will be held in May 2015.
It is the Mundiaplolis university of Casablanca that announced on Monday, 30th June that Morocco will welcome the next edition of this international meeting that will be organized by this university in association with universities Mohammed V-Souissi of Rabat and Al Akawayn of Ifrane.
We should note that the United States, India, Australia and Thailand were also candidate to welcome the 39th edition of the ICPC.
Indeed, the competition welcomes the best universities of the world but also numerous companies and leading multinationals in information technologies, agencies of recruitments and numerous researchers.
It is said that the candidacy of Morocco was chosen among others for the economic and political stability of the country and its cultural, tourist and civilizational assets.
The Kingdom so has become the first Arab, Mediterranean and African Country to welcome the World IT engineering competition.
The organization of this competition represents an extraordinary chance for Morocco. This is going to allow it to assert itself one more time as being the first Arabic and African power in the computing.
