The fourth edition of the Luxor International Film Festival (Egypt) started on 16th March 2015 and came to an end last Saturday in the Egyptian city with the consecration of several African movies realized by African film-makers on the continent.
The movie « Timbuktu » by the Mauritanian director, Abderrahman Sissako, was planned at the opening of the festival which put in competition about sixty African productions.
Egypt swiped several prizes involved. « The Elephant Bleu » by the Egyptian director, Marwan Hamed, won the first prize for the best fiction film, the most prestigious award of the competition.
The Egyptian film-maker, Ahmed Nour, director for the documentary « Waves » also won a special prize. For its part, the South African structure « South African documentary filmmaker » director for the movie « The Dream of Shahrazad » won the prize of late journalist, Husseiny Abu Daif.
All in all, 31 African countries participated in the fourth edition of the Luxor International African Film Festival.
