Marathon of Gabon: the first race certified Africa

The steering committee of the Marathon of Gabon organizes the third edition from 28^th to 29^th May 2015. Henceforth registered on the agenda of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), the event will have a particular connotation this year.

« This year, the third edition aims to be very important, even more, because for the first time in the African history, the marathon of Gabon is the only one to be certified« , declared Sébastien Bottari, manager of the Marathon.

Like the previous editions, the competition will have four races. They are « Junior » that will be run on a distance from 1 to 3 km; the « Gabonese » (of 5 km); the Half marathon (21 km) and the Marathon (42 km).

« Six months is exactly the necessary time for the possible participants to start getting ready seriously if they wish to join a long distance« , explained the director of the Marathon.
