In a communiqué published on Tuesday, the general Delegation of the Prison authorities and reintegration, announced that 661 prisoners are candidate for the examinations of the high school diploma for the academic year 2013-2014.
« The examinations of the high school diploma began in prisons in a disciplined and peaceful atmosphere and this within the framework of efforts made by the general Delegation of the Prison authorities and of reintegration to allow prisoners to benefit from qualifying educational programs leading to facilitate their reintegration after their liberation », underlined the document.
The communiqué added that these examinations take place in perfect coordination with the executives of the Ministry of Education within the framework of the cooperation existing between this department, the general Delegation of the Prison authorities and reintegration and the Mohammed VI foundation for Prisoners Reintegration.
It is indicated that eight (08) candidates are taking these examinations in freedom state within penitentiaries centers after their release and this within the framework of the legal opportunities which the Delegation granted to people having served their sentences in order to allow them to perfect their schooling.
The Delegation moreover specified that the number of prisoners registered on the education program, elimination of illiteracy and vocational training in penitentiaries centers counting for the school year 2013-2014 amounts to 15.683 or an increase of 10 % with regard to the previous school year.
