Morocco: woman and cinema are compatible!

The theme of woman will be once again at the heart of a competition that opposing 12 full-length films during the 8th edition of the Salé International Women’s Film Festival (FIFFS).

This meeting will be held from 22nd to 27th September in Salé, Morocco centered on the Lebanese cinema.

They announced the participation of several countries among which Egypt, Tunisia, Colombia, Spain, South Korea, France, Uzbekistan, Senegal, Argentina, Norway and Austria.

On the agenda of the activities, the projection of two full-length films and three documentary movies, works of Lebanese female directors known for their film creativity.

It will be during this FIFFS edition that the great majority of the participating movies will be projected for their very first time.

According to the organizers, the new thing introduced into the organization of this edition is the presentation of a forum on women.

A close-up will thus be made on the Moroccan full-length films produced between 2013 and 2014, the short films by the young directors and the projection of movies in Hassania and Amazigh languages.

It is moreover planned workshops dedicated to scenario writing as well as a presentation of visual art publication and exhibition concerning cinema and women. Workshops will be supervised by Moroccan and foreign professionals.

Finally, in the closing ceremony of this festival, several prizes will be awarded to the various actors of cinema as the Grand Prix of the festival, special Prize by the jury, the Prize of the best scenario, the Prize of the best feminine performance and the Prize of the best performance.
