The Gabonese International footballer, Remy Ebanega, worried about the working conditions of his colleagues stayed in the country, launched in 2014, the National Association of the Professional Footballers of Gabon (ANFPG). Real union, the organization has for mission, the implementation of a Gabonese football charter and the protection of the rights of the professional footballers of the country.
The association includes up to date, 8 clubs of the national football championship over 14 the country counts. In an interview granted to the Jeune Afrique magazine, the project carrier made the current situation of the Gabonese players conditions.
« No association existed when I was younger. No help was available. The players were left to their own. In case of problem, the player was isolated facing his club. Yet, since then, the situation has still been getting worse in Gabon. I thus tried to fill in this gap« , explained the defender of the CA Bastia (French D3).
Remy Ebanega (25 years old) began his footballer career in the Gabonese club, US Bitam. In 2012 he signed at the French club, AJ Auxerre. He has been playing under the colors of the national team of Gabon since 2011.
