Of Zambian origin but living in the United Kingdom, Samkeliso Kimbinyi created a buzz in the world of information and communication technologies (ICTS) by becoming one of the youngest Microsoft Qualified Professionals (Professionals certified by the Microsoft Company in Europe).

Known under the name Sam, Samkeliso Kimbinyi is in 10th year (the last year of the secondary level at the University Technical College (UTC) in Reading, a city just outside London.

He is now a Microsoft Certified Professional and he is a Microsoft Technical Associates (MTA) certificate holder in seven fundamental domains including software, fundamental for the development of Windows as well as those of the OS (operating system).

The 15-year-old teenager also developed an application called Lite for the Windows telephones and criticisms are positive.

Joined by Global Voices Online, Sam gave us here this information:

« In March of this year, I had the opportunity to meet members of the board of Microsoft in Seattle that were in the United Kingdom for one day within the framework of their travel to Europe to speak with customers who are in training through the Microsoft program IT Academy. They were members of the Learning Experience team – the main Director, Tim Sneath, the Manager of academic programs, Keith Loeber and the Director of the contents, Briana Roberts.

On 26th May 2014, I published my first App-Lite on the store of Windows Phone. I got the idea of this application having spent long hours looking for a fast flashlight application and that does not impose to receive any advertisements in return. Having found nothing at the end, I decided to create one myself. Eight days later and with the suggestions (sic) of the phone Community Reddit of Windows, I reached 300 downloads and an evaluation of 5 stars. A short time later, the application obtained a place in the section « New and Rising » of App Store.

In future, I hope to create many more applications and to continue to study the computing at university ».

The bulletin belletin of his school quoted Kimbinyi:

« The MTA training is connected to what we learn in class but it gave me a better understanding of the programming and showed how this domain can vary. My new knowledges were really useful when we developed an application during the Microsoft project; we succeeded in developing a much better application. »

Microsoft congratulated Kimbinyi in a tweet:
