The third edition of the agriculture and animal resources international fair (SARA) opened on Friday, 3rd April in Abidjan already bears fruit. Ivory Coast and Morocco have just signed an agreement, 24 hours after the opening of the fair. The new partnership should provide Ivory Coast with an agricultural insurance.

According to the APA agency, the document specifies the general framework of the partnership in which Ivory Coast and Moroccan governments will work at the implementation and the development of the agricultural insurance in Ivory Coast. Morocco will bring its assistance in the definition of the role of the State in the implementation and the establishment of the agricultural insurance system.

During the opening ceremony of the SARA, the president of the Republic of Ivory Coast, Alassane Ouattara, announced the next passing of an agricultural law which will give recognition and value to farmer’s job.

Since a few years, the Ivorian president has been encouraging the production, the processing and the access of the Ivorian farm products to the international markets. A total of 656 000 jobs were created during the last three years.
