SEMICA 2014: mines serving ECOWAS development.

The International fair of energy, mines and quarries (SEMICA) will take place in Ouagadougou from 29th to 31st May 2014. Under the theme « Contribution of mining sector to the emergence of ECOWAS States: Current situation and perspectives », the meeting will welcome about fifty heads of States and governments and experts of mining sector.

The biggest West-African platform exclusively arranged for mines and quarry businesses promotion in Africa is awaiting approximately 5000 visitors for the third edition taking place in Ouagadougou.

« SEMICA aims to be a springboard of valuation and promotion of mining, energy sectors and quarries at home and abroad. We wish to make of SEMICA an international market which will gather every year experts and professionals in these domains. Our reference shows are Mining Indaba Conference in South Africa and PDAC Toronto, Canada », indicated the chairman of the thematic Commission, Lassina Traoré at the launching of the first edition of the event.

Organized by BITEL communication agency in partnership with Burkinabe ministry of Mines and Energy and mining Chamber of Burkina, SEMICA put at the disposal of exhibitors, 200 stands and a space of 400m2 for big vehicles exhibition. Conferences, sessions and networking cocktails are on the agenda of this third edition.

SEMICA integrated for this edition, an integration and training sector on its initiative. It offered 200 participating scholarships for ECOWAS space students meeting.

« It aims to allow students whose sector needs to get in touch with professional world in order to establish contacts and why not, prepare their future insertion in professional environment », explained Innocent Belemtougri, promoter of the event.
