It is an enormous risk the Royal Air Mroc air company is taking in continuing its operations into the West African countries affected by Ebola.

This action of solidarity is to be appreciated as far as the remaining airline companies still available in the three West African countries affected by Ebola suspended their flights on Wednesday, 27th August 2014, isolating more and more the region.

Only Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and Brussels Airlines still operate into Sierra Leone and Liberia.

For its part, Air France announced the « temporary suspension » of its flights towards Freetown (Sierra Leone) up from Thursday, 28th August 2014 but will continue its connections with Guinea and Nigeria.

In this regards, the « very firm request » from the UNO against the Ebola virus so that airline companies continue operating into the capital towns of countries affected thus got less effect.

For its part, the coordinator of the UNO, Dr David Nabarro, declared on Monday, 25th August 2014 in Freetown that « the understandable decision from certain airline companies not to operate any more into Freetown, Monrovia or Conakry got an enormous impact on the capacity of the UNO to forwarded staff and material« .

According to the last report from the World Health Organization (WHO) published one week ago, Ebola caused 1.427 deaths: 624 in Liberia, 406 in Guinea, 392 in Sierra Leone and five in Nigeria.
