The measures taken by the steering committee of the International Trade Fair of Lomé to avoid the spreading Ebola virus disease did not reassure the Togolese authorities. Initially scheduled over the period of 23rd November to 8th December 2014, the edition 2014 of the International Trade Fair of Lomé is postponed to a later date according to a communiqué from the government relayed by the official information site of the country.

The traders of countries affected by Ebola virus were nevertheless excluded from the biggest business meeting of Togo. According to a steering committee member joined on telephone by our colleagues of icilome.com, Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone will not participate in the International Trade Fair of Lomé.

« They will not be there. We are thinking together with the Ministry of Health in order to see measures to be set up at the level of airport and borders before the effective opening of the commercial center to check even traders from countries not affected by the virus« , declared the source.

Togo is not the only African country to have postponed international meetings because of the risk of spreading of the Ebola virus disease. Burkina Faso cancelled the edition 2014 of the International Cycle Race of Faso.
