Created in April 2014 by Total, the Young Graduate Program is an innovative initiative intended for the young graduates of more than forty countries of Africa and the Middle East where we are established. This program gives them the opportunity to discover the employment environment through a real operational work experience and an international opening during a period of 18 months.

« This program is one of the strong and visible signs of our commitment in Africa and in the Middle East, and of our will to answer the concerns of these countries as well as the expectations of the young people. For them and contrary to what takes place in Europe, find an internship can be particularly complicated, even when they achieved excellent university studies. So, by offering them a first experience and an international exhibition, we thus contribute to get their foot to the ladder and support them concretely in their occupational integration« , explained Momar Nguer, Manager Africa / Middle East of Total Marketing & Services.

The Total Young Graduate Program is a project structured and managed over 18 months. It includes two key stages. The young people, recruited under limited-term contract, are trained at first in our businesses in the sector of finance, trade or operations during six months within a subsidiary of Total in Africa or in the Middle East. An evaluation is then done to make the point on their performances and if they met the expectations, they then leave for another subsidiary of Total in the zone to continue their career path there during twelve months. Thus, the Total Group makes that every country of Africa and the Middle East where it is established can benefit from skills and of acquired experiences in their country of origin by these young recruits.

« Today, more than 100 young talents joined this program of which, about twenty already occupy their second post at the international level. The first months were very satisfatory and the program meets a real success: we received 10 000 applications. This program will be sustainable; by 2017, more than 500 young people will have benefited from this opportunity« , specified Christophe Mouret, human resources manager of Total M&S for Africa and the Middle East.
