Under its local identity of Nexttel, the Vietnamese mobile company, Viettel, the 3è in Cameroon, signed its start from next 18th September 2014.
The new operator’s activities will start at the time Cameroon is getting ready to adopt a new 9-digit dialing code.
It is further to « decisive » tests, network equipment of the company on the main working sites of Douala and Yaoundé, the economic and political metropolises of the country, that green light was given to the aforementioned company.
According to the managing director of the company, Vu Khanh Duy, « chips as well as phones of Nexttel are already available and the 3G technology will be operational from the launching« .
The persons in charge of Nexttel announced besides the creation of 6300 direct and indirect jobs on the horizon 2014, with at least 85 % coverage of the territory at the starting up and from 15 to 20 % of reduction on the Internet connection rates.
