-Never two without three! With no surprise, Yaya Touré was once again elected “African Ballon d’or” of the year, this for the third consecutive year.

The Ivorian of Manchester City was crowned last Thursday in Lagos, Nigeria during the 22nd edition of Glo CAF Awards, ceremony of reward to the best football players on the continent.

Yaya Touré was in advance of the Nigerian John Obi Mikel, winner of the African Cup of Nations 2013 in South Africa with Super Eagles and Didier Drogba, captain of Elephants of Ivory Coast.

Crowned «Best African player  » by the BBC in 2013, Yaya Touré is good as well as Samuel Eto’o by swiping this distinction for the third consecutive year. The Cameroonian had also made this achievement between 2003 and 2005.

Yaya Touré was on all the fronts in 2013. He was mainly appointed Goodwill ambassador of the United Nations for the Environment. He committed himself to save life of the elephants, an endangered species on the continent.

Exceptional midfielder, he has played in the biggest clubs: Monaco, Barcelona, Manchester City. -Summer 2007: He was recruited by FC Barcelona for 12 million euros. May 27th, he became the first Ivorian to have won champions’ league in Roma against Manchester United.

-July 2010: He signed 05-year-contract with Manchester City for 32 million euros.

Yaya Touré became the best paid player in the Premier League with 900 000 euros per month.
