MTN: always leader in telecommunications in Cameroon

MTN Cameroon takes the lion’s share in the quarterly information of the telecommunications sector in Cameroon that is just published by the Telecommunications Regulation Agency (ART).

During the 2^nd and the 3^rd quarter, the Cameroonian subsidiary of the South African group, MTN, operating in the mobile telephony sector, is credited with 11, 2 million subscribers.

These figures include the subscribers in prepaid mode as well as those using the postpaid mode.

As of 30^th September 2014, the public operator, the Cameroon Telecommunications (Camtel), got 322.790 subscribers on the wired fixed telephony segments as well as the CT Phone.

The ART pointed out that the third operator, Orange Cameroon, did not communicate the situation of its subscribers on this date of 30^th September 2014.

We just know that on 31^st March 2014, there were 6 million subscribers for Orange Cameroon against 9 million for MTN Cameroon and 10 million on 30^th June.
