8th Francophony games: opnening in Abidjan

Ivory gets the honor to organize the eighth Francophony Games in 2017 after the 7th that took place in Nice, France in September 2013.

More than 4.000 young people are thus expected from 21st to 30th July 2017 in Abidjan « to celebrate the ideals of the Francophony » under the triptych of French-speaking Solidarity, diversity and excellence.

Within the framework of the preparations for this special event at the same time sports and cultural gathering every four years in post-Olympic year, the best talents of the French-speaking space, the very first meeting of the global Executive board for the United Regions Organization / Regions Association Global Forum (ORU / FOGAR), opened on Thursday in Abidjan.

The works took place in the presence of the Chairman of the Regions and Districts Assembly of Ivory Coast (ARDCI), Jeannot Ahoussou Kouadio.

This meeting was marked by the opening of the head office by the national committee. According to Dosso Moussa, minister of employment, social affairs and vocational training, Representative of the Prime Minister, Daniel Kablan, « the opening of the building is the proof of the strong ambitions of Ivory Coast having made the commitment to organize the best Francophony Games in Abidjan in 2017« .

« This building will allow the CNJF Management which work quality I appreciate, continuing its mission. The Francophony Games promote the values of the French-speaking Solidarity, diversity and excellence« , he added.

The Representative of the Prime Minister, Daniel Kablan besides, considered the organization of these games on the Ivorian land as « a strong symbol of the trust » placed by the international community place in the future of Ivory Coast.

For his part, the Managing director of the national committee of the Francophony Games (CNJF), Epiphane Zoro Bi Ballo, made a commitment to offer the most wonderful Francophony games.

We should note that this inaugural ceremony was marked by the presentation of the logo for these 8th Francophony Games and the rising of the flag of these games.

Made of the head of an elephant, this logo selected at the end of a competition, aims to be federative and integrative.
