Fosica: finances cinema in Benin

The first call for the financing project of audiovisual and film works launched in September 2014 by the Support for Cinematographic and Audiovisual Industry Foundation (FOSICA) bear fruit.

The jury has just settled on the documentary-fiction project entitled « OKUTA » proposed by Aymar Ayéman ESSE. The latter will benefit from a financial support of eight million FCFA.

The agreement was signed on Friday, 27th March 2015 between FOSICA and the production house « Les films du siècle« , company chosen by the director to assure the administrative follow-up and the production of the documentary movie.

According to the promoters of the initiative, the production of the movie, OKUTA, will use at 100% students trained at the ISMA and will bring an added value to the valuation of the climatic advantages of the hills region of DASSA.

Through this first production, the FOSICA intends to bring an additional string to the bow of the professionals trained at the ISMA to give a new breath to the development of the Beninese cinema.

The FOSICA also indicated on its Facebook page that the first broadcasting of the movie will be done at the ISMA at the end of August 2015 the latest.
