In the concern to offer better study and life conditions to its students, the Zambian government plans to set up a university loan system. The initiative is applied to the three public universities of the country and will be effective early 2016.
Zambia as several countries of Africa financially supports students through university grants. In front the limits of this system and the repetitive dissatisfactions of the learners, the government decided to set up university loans refundable after the studies.
The news was released by the Zambian Minister of education, sciences, vocational training and early childhood education, Michael Kaingu. He also promised a new governmental approach regarding the financing of higher education.
Zambia is a landlocked country of Southern Africa. Its capital is Lusaka and it counted thirteen million inhabitants in 2010. Derived from the British Northern Rhodesia, the country is an integral part of the Commonwealth.
