Abi Reggae 2015: Chris Blackwell, the boss of Island Records expected in Abidjan

Less known in Africa, the English producer, Chris Blackwell, is the founder of the Island Records Company, the establishment that has participated in the emergence of several international stars. Salif Keita, Baaba Maal, Angélique Kidjo, King Sunny Adé, Bob Marley, Third World, Burning Spear and many more passed through the stable of Englishman.

The African branch of Island Records Company is the promoter of Island Africa Talent, the TV program that allows detecting and rewarding young singers, hopes of Africa.

Chris Blackwell is listed among distinguished guests of the first edition of Abi Reggae, the greatest Reggae music festival of Africa that is taking place from 9th to 12th April 2015 in Abidjan. The cultural promoter will present a communication on 11th April during the festival initiated by the Minister, Moussa Dosso.

As Africa Top Success reported it earlier, the festival sponsored by Pascaline Bongo, sister of the Gabonese president, Ali Bono, will get the participation of reggae music famous names as Alpha Blondy, Kojo Antwi, Third World, Morgan Heritage, or Ky-Mani.
