Jakaya Kikwete: The Tanzanian President won «African Leader» Prize

The Tanzanian president Jakaya Kikwete succeeded to Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia, and Ghanian former president John Kuffor by winning African leader prize 2013 « having impact the most ». A prize awarded last week by « African Leadership » magazine.

It was Tanzanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and international Cooperation, Bernard Membe, who received this prize on behalf of the president in Washington (USA).

According to the magazine, the Tanzanian leader deserved this prize for good governance of ordinary citizens. As it is often said, excellence always pays.

We should underline that African Leadership is a magazine dedicated to business executives, government officials, international targeted investors, company managers, multilateral organizations through Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the United States.

The prize is awarded every year to African leaders who guarantee leadership standards fixed by the magazine, in particular respect of good governance, democracy and human rights.

Jakaya Kikwete (63 years old) is at the head of Tanzania since December 2005. Influential executive of Chama cha Mapinduzi revolutionary political party(in power since 1961), he was elected serving president of African Union on 31st January 2008 at Addis Ababa summit.
