(Ecair) – ECAir, Equatorial Congo Airlines (http://www.flyecair.com), the national airline company of the Republic of Congo managed by Fatima Beyina-Moussa, also chair of the African Airlines Association (AFRAA), participates in the 71st Annual General assembly (AGA) coupled with the air transport world Summit of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) that takes place from 7th to 9th June at Loews Miami Beach Hotel, Miami, (the United States).

AGA and IATA Summit constitute an opportunity for the air industry managers to exchange and an exceptional opportunity to collect their vision. It is the greatest meeting for these of air company managers. We note amog them the presence of several managers of African companies, among whom Driss Benhima (Royal Air Maroc CEO), Tewolde Gebremariam (Ethiopian Airlines CEO), Captain Sameh El-Hefny (EgyptAir CEO), Ben Dahwa (Air Botswana CEO), Fatima Beyina-Moussa, (ECAir CEO and chair AFRAA).

On Sunday, 7th June, the managers of the African air companies got the time to discuss a few moments with Tony Tyler, Managing director of IATA and Dr. Elijah Chingosho, General Secretary of AFRAA. Tony Tyler renewed his appeal to airline companies and governments to get united in order to develop the air sector on the continent.

Fatima Beyina-Moussa reminded that ECAir intends to play its role within the framework of the implementation of a real cooperation strategy between the African airline companies: « we opened last week our third intercontinental line Brazzaville-Beirut in partnership with Trans Air Congo (TAC). We are on our way to finalize agreements of code sharing with South African Airways and Ethiopian Airlines. I am persuaded that African companies can develop connectivity on the continent and regain control the air-travel market. But for this purpose, it is necessary to cooperate. In fact, the time for national companies going it alone at their own level is obviously behind us, the sector being subject to a more intense competition than ever. »

Cooperation will be the main theme of the 47th AFRAA General assembly organized by ECAir. The event placed under the high patronage of His Excellency, Denis Sassou Nguesso, President of the Republic of Congo, takes place from 8th to 10th November 2015 in Brazzaville.
