The news is reported by the on-line newspaper, Le Matinal. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport is ranked first in two categories by the « 2014 Airport Service Quality Awards » of the Airports Council International (ACI).
In fact, the airport of Mauritius is the best of the African region and is the first in terms of services improvement in Africa.
This airport also appears in the ranking of the airports that obtain two to five million passengers a year.
The poll by the ACI is considered as the most detailed evaluation tool of the passenger service of the travel industry.
This poll estimated in a reliable way the departure of passengers in 300 airports worldwide. The ACI counts four categories of rewards: best airport by region, by surface, by small size and in terms of services improvement.
The ACI is a non-profit organization and includes 580 members who work in 1 650 airports in 179 countries and territories.
This poll of passengers includes 34 indexes among which, access to the airport, safety, check-in, airport facilities, catering.
