Absent from tracks during a year, Beninese athlete Bentille Allassane lost nothing of her flexibility and her speed. The young mother was imperturbable last Saturday during the 6th edition of international half marathon of Cotonou. She arrived before her Nigerian competitor Mikael lydi (1H24’40) and won the envelope for 2 million CFA involved in the competition.

In 2013, Bentille Allassane left tracks to dedicate herself to her family life. For several analysts, it was the end of the professional career of the Beninese athlete. It was not the case. The winner of the fourth edition of half marathon of Cotonou (in 2012) resumed her position as leader last Saturday in front of an audience committed to her cause.

« It is with pleasure to see Benti run again. I missed her during previous marathon edition. I wish her a career full of success. She makes the pride of Benin », exclaimed to Africa Top Success’ microphone, a supporter seduced by the performance of Benti.

At the men, Ghanaians dominated the competition. The first place won by Kwabema Frempong. Togolese athlete Nikabou Dabalou occupied the second place followed by the second Ghanaian Lagle Raja Komlan who ended the podium. All in all 5.731 athletes (203 Women; 5.528 Men) from 23 nationalities participated in the 6th edition of international half marathon of Cotonou.
