Togo: Lomé welcomes FAMS from the next 18th to 24th August

When fashion gets involved in health, it results in FAMS (African Festival of Fashion-Health), a concept imagined by Sylvia DOSSEY-ANYRON, manageress of the showroom « Lys & Lee Création« , and who is going to exclusively dedicate herself to patients’ life in hospitals.

The festival that is for its first edition was effectively launched on 19th Thursday 2014 in Lomé. It notably aims at supporting the persons suffering from arterial high blood pressure through all Africa and in the world over time.

And it is Sheyi Emmanuel Adébayor, the captain of the « Eperviers » of Togo that is the ambassador of this edition.

For the organizers, it will thus be a matter of conducting sensitizations about the blood pressure that decimates thousands of lives every year.

FAMS is a unique context of knowledge admixture where fashion designers, stylists, models, health agents, journalists, companies will show their talents and skills to point out at the same time Fashion and health of the populations.

Through an variety of activities, organizers intend to promote a creative Togo, a unique occasion where fashion, music, cultures, arts and promotion of health are mixed up to strengthen the dynamics of cultural industries.

On the menu, conferences debates, sensitization sessions on the arterial high blood pressure, one evening of official reception and fashion show, a marathon, an entertaining trip, etc.

The steering committee also planned to conduct sensitization actions against the sale and the purchase of imitated medicines displayed anywhere in the streets of Lomé and inside the country.

Justifying the correlation between Fashion and Health, the promoter indicated that both concepts have a common point: quality.

Mrs DOSSEY-ANYRON underlined that consequently, « fashion being a medium that gathers of many people, helps then to inform better, educate better and better make sensitive« .

She moreover announced that 40 % of funds collected during the event will serve to buy tensiometers and scales for hospitals of Kpalimé, city situated at 120 km far from Lomé.
