Outside the USA – Africa summit that will take place on 5th and 6th August, meetings between African and American investors, called « US Africa Business Forum » as well as a meeting on the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) are planned.

In a communiqué published on Thursday by the government, the Madagascan president, Hery Rajaonarimampianina, will seize this opportunity to plead in favor of a « continuation of the AGOA market «  deeply awaited by operators and investors of Madagascar.

According to a Madagascan economist, some months that are ahead of Madagascar to benefit from the AGOA franchise, hardly encourage many investments for the sustainable boost of the Malagasy economic activities that was victim of a suspension for democratic reasons.

For her part, the wife of the President of Republic, Voahangy Rajaonarimampianina, who is a part of the official delegation on the way on Friday to Washington, will also give a special speech.

The first lady will present sessions on « the education of young girls », « the global health », and « the opportunities for the small entrepreneurs ».

A meeting between the Madagascan president and his American counterpart, Barack Obama is possible according to observers and politicians, considering tensions between the USA-Madagascar.

A meeting that would be an opportunity of strengthening the Malagasy-American relations back to normal notably with this coming back of Madagascar to the AGOA market.

We should underline that various sessions will also be scheduled, which subjects will be centred on « Invest in the future of Africa », « Peace and Stability », and « Rule for the future generation« , as well as treaty agreements.

The whole will be crowned by a big dinner in the White House.
