Native of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Amini Kajunju (43 years old) has been since 2012, the first African lady to take the management of Africa-America Institute (AAI), the oldest American organization that promotes relations between Africa and the USA. The Congolese managed during 10 years, the Workshop in Business Opportunities (WIBO) in New York, a structure that assists entrepreneurs for the achievement of their objectives.

Amini Kajunju is part of the African elite on which the American president, Barack Obama can count to strengthen his links with Africa, his continent of origin. The Congolese perfectly knows Africa to have spent a part of her life there (DR of Congo, Liberia). Her passion for the development of her continent led her to participate in the creation of the Angel Africa, a non-governmental organization that participates in the development of the African companies.

Amini Kajunju is a Master’s degree holder in government services (New York University) and has been managing since 2012 the most influential American organization that follows up the strengthening of the relations with Africa. The AAI offers scholarships to thousands of African students. Among the beneficiaries of its programs, appear the Kenyan biologist and Nobel Peace Prize, Wangari Maathai, the Malawian president, Joyce Banda and the Ivory Coast head of State Alassane Ouattara.

In September 2013, during the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the organization, several African heads of State among whom the presidents Goodluck Jonathan (Nigeria), John Dramani Mahama (Ghana), Jacob Zuma (South Africa) or Jakaya Kikwete (Tanzania) travelled to New York.
