After Togo (construction of the 3rd platform), Ivory Coast (construction of the HKB bridge), Senegal just launched the building work of the highway, Thiès-Touba, baptized « Ilaa Touba« .
The president of the Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall proceeded this weekend to the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the highway that will connect the city of Thiès to Touba. The new infrastructure will cost 400 billion FCFA to the Senegalese State. The project that is a part of the Senegal Emergent Plan (PSE) will be carfried out by the Chinese companies over 45 months.
« I should remind that one of the strategic objectives of the PSE is to equip our country with quality infrastructures that connect our territories, value their potentialities, stimulate the growth and favor our economic and social development« , indicated the president of the Republic before pointing out the real purpose of the project.
According to Macky Sall, the « Ilaa Touba » highway will allow building an interconnected network on the whole territory to create a dynamics of economic business, agro pastoral, mining, tourist and halieutic parks; opening up zones with strong economic potentialities and facilitating the access of the populations to basic social services, as school and health structures; strengthening the attractiveness and the competitiveness of the state economy, as well as its opening to the sub-regional market and the exchanges with the outside.
